XTR Di2 Build Three (The evolution of a mountain bike: Nomad Carbon 27.5″ Build 7):

I moved the SM-EWW01 Wireless Transmitter from next to the water bottle cage to in behind the top chain guide and fixed it to the frame with three layers of 3M dual sided moulding tape. This meant I could dispense with the o-ring which was a bit of a dirt and mud trap.

The EWW01 normally mounts with a form fitted and contoured rubber spacer on the back but the tape refused to stick to it so I had to remove it. You can see the ECWC2 E-tube Cover pieces that I have used to keep the e-tube tidy and protected in the photo. I have also used a long piece of it on the seat stay and a small piece where it runs to the rear derailleur.

I layered three pieces of tape to get the depth required due to the small plastic tabs that are on the back of the EWW01 to hold the normal rubber strip in place.

There are reports that running the EWW01 increases power consumption which makes sense (it is a transmitter) but I have not been able to verify this yet as I do not have a Garmin head unit (yet) that reports D-Fly data.
